Provantage Media Group, who won the Media Owner Rising Star Award five times in a row (back in the day when no limits were placed on a person only winning the award once). “It was a very nice confirmation of the efforts that I have put into growing Provantage and they gave me great exposure and publicity,” he says. His trophies occupy the reception area of the company, so that anybody entering the building can see the major achievements won. Where companies keep their trophies For a bit of fun, we decided to explore where some companies keep their prized MOST Awards, as it’s not only individuals who are honoured for their excellent performance in the industry. Massiv Media, which was named as the Media Owner of the Year in 2017, keep their trophy as the centre piece on their boardroom table, with commercial director Gary Tilston explaining, “It’s not because clients get to see it, but because our team meeting is held there every Monday morning”. They have two others grazing around the office as well. At The MediaShop, Botha’s individual trophy is not a part of the flock. The ones that the agency has won over the years are all proudly displayed in the reception area of their Bryanston office. “This is the area where most media owners can be found. Winning the MOST Awards reminds our staff and our media owner partners that we are exactly that… partners. To put our trophies out of sight of our media owners, would be to deny them their role in us achieving them. Our wins are always a joint win,” says Botha. At PHD, Bishop’s trophy is part of the flock, as it sits with the others that the agency has won over the years in the reception area. Bishop jokingly says, “This is because it looks kinda cool having a whole bunch of sheep grazing around the reception desk”.
