MOST AWARDS RESULTS Television Category Over the past 10 years the television category has been dominated by DStv Media Sales and e.tv; but this year revealed a first-time category winner, the sales team for The Home Channel, Business Day TV & IGNITION. This media owner was ranked third in the category in 2017, an indication that the team was delivering high levels of performance and poised to achieve higher accolades in future. Last year’s category winner, e.tv, and the 2016 category winner, DStv Media Sales, earned the second and third placed rankings respectively this year. As a relatively small team, the Home Channel, Business Day TV & IGNITION team has done very well, clearly punching above its weight this year. The following voter explained what gave this team the edge: “Exceptionally enthusiastic about our client’s business. Very visible in the agency. This category has grown significantly in recent years, from five companies listed in 2016 to 12 companies this year. The winner of the Media Sales Consultants category this year is Ad Dynamo, the team that sells advertising opportunities on Twitter, Snapchat and Spotify. This year, the Ad Dynamo team edged out mobile advertising specialist Vicinity Media, who came second. The remaining companies in the category did not receive the minimum thirty votes required to qualify. The Ad Dynamo team received 25 best-in-category votes, with one voter explaining: “The team is well-staffed and very well trained. Lots of proactive ideas. Lots of innovation. And a good understanding of the category. The team is always available with training solutions to industry.” Another voter added: “From innovation to involvement – Ad Dynamo are astounding. We can always pick up the phone and know that they’re there – ready to jump onto any and all briefs with a smile, and innovative solutions to boot.” Lamb Aw ard – Media Ow ners The Lamb Award was introduced in 2012 to recognise media owner sales teams that just miss qualifying for a MOST Award as a result of not getting the minimum 30 votes required. The inaugural winner of the Lamb Award was MMAP, while last year’s winner was the digital team at SPARK Media. This year the Lamb Award for Media Owners winner is Mark1 Media, followed by Ultimate Media and Red Cherry Media respectively. All three of these sales teams are from the Media Sales Consultants category.
