Cinema Category Notwithstanding the fact that the cinema category lists only two media owners, the level of performance by both over the years has clearly been outstanding. This is evident from their MOST Awards rankings since 2009. A highlight for Popcorn Cinevation surely must have been its win of the combined Television/Cinema category in 2013. The same can surely be said of Cinemark, who achieved the same accolade in 2015. CINEMA 2018 Rank Votes MOST 2018 Score 1 Cinemark 75 7.37 2 Cinevation Popcorn 57 7.24 The winner of the MOST Award for cinema media owners in 2018 is Cinemark, making it a hat trick since 2016. A voter offered the following rationale for backing the Cinemark team: “They are an innovative bunch with excellent knowledge of how to incorporate their client’s objectives and to best match their audiences. Their audiences take preference, not necessarily their clients’ objectives – that’s why they’re retaining audiences.” Another explained: “Despite our agency not booking cinema, our Cinemark rep still calls on our agency regularly and keeps the team up-to-date on opportunities within cinema. They also ensure they are up-to-date with our clients and our agency.” MOST AWARDS RESULTS “The digital category has grown signiFIcantly over the years, with just one media owner qualifying in 2009 to six media owners qualifying in 2018.” Digital Category This category has grown significantly over the years, with just one media owner qualifying in 2009 to six media owners qualifying in 2018. As one would expect with a relatively ‘new’ dynamic category, there have been a number of new entrants as well as some companies exiting the category in recent years. In addition, the category has become significantly more complex with digital companies now offering multiple diversified services to their clients. The 2018 winner of the category is the dynamic AdColony team. As a first-time entrant into the digital category, the significantly high scores achieved by AdColony across all six performance criteria is especially impressive. One survey respondent commented: “They’ve done their research and put in the time to build a truly worthwhile digital offering. Their campaign build and reporting is brilliant, and the team is passionate and very involved with their media agencies’ work.” Another said: “Their level of client service and support is unparalleled. Their product drives great value and innovation. Their offering is within the best measurable and executed creative placements in the market.” Google and Mediamark claimed second and third spot in the digital category respectively. Digital 2018 Rank Votes MOST 2018 Score 1 AdColony 57 8.17 2 Google 73 7.63 3 Mediamark 32 7.41 “The digital category has become significantly more complex with digital companies now offering multiple diversified services to their clients.” P 10 The Media | wagthedog.co.za
